Frequently asked questions
Who can host a journal on EJMS?
Any publisher, university, college, society or editor. Choose a plan, register your journal and pay online; your journal goes live after verification.
Do I need my own server or technical staff?
No. We host everything: website, submissions, peer review, emails, PDFs and backups. You only manage your journal from the browser.
Can my journal use its own domain like www.myjournal.com?
Yes, on Standard and Premium plans. Every journal also gets a free subdomain address.
Does EJMS help with DOAJ, Google Scholar and Crossref DOI?
Yes. Article pages carry Google Scholar tags, every journal has an OAI-PMH address for harvesters, and you can download Crossref DOI and DOAJ files for each issue. A checklist shows what is still missing for indexing.
Can you move our old issues from OJS or our old website?
Yes. Back issues can be imported in bulk, and Premium members get migration help.
What happens if we forget to renew?
You get reminders before expiry and a grace period afterwards. If the membership is still not renewed, the journal website is paused (data stays safe) and comes back as soon as you renew.
